Certification

SAS² Instruction

SAS² Dialogue Inc. oversees standards of excellence in the use of the tools and software of the SAS² approach. The goal of this oversight is to recognize the skills, knowledge, attitudes and values of people committed to careful (rigorous) and caring action-research.

Certification is, of course, optional. Non-certified practitioners, teachers and institutions are encouraged to use SAS² in their work, but may not offer SAS² Certified services. Please consult the Legal Notices for information on copyrights.

Certification of Practitioners

What is it?

Certification of Practitioners verifies and recognizes your ability to use SAS² concepts and tools to support collaborative inquiry, planning and evaluation grounded in action.

What do you need to do to become a SAS² Practitioner?

  • Complete the SAS² Introductory and Advanced Workshops offered by SAS² Dialogue Certified Instructors, or demonstrate an equivalent level of training in Participatory Action Research.
  • Prepare and send to SAS2 Dialogue a portfolio of examples of your work, showing how you have used SAS² concepts and tools in real-life projects, programs and situations.

The form taken by the portfolio is flexible. It may include a series of plans for particular assessments, detailed notes from an assessment, a formal report or paper, non-confidential sections of a consulting report, or personal examples using particular SAS² techniques. See examples of how practitioners have documented their work.

Contact us if you wish to become a SAS² Certified Instructor in your region. He or she will review your portfolio, atest to the level of training received and make a recommendation for certification validated by their institution.

Certification of Instructors

What is it?

SAS² Instructor Certification verifies and recognizes your ability to design and lead training events.

What do you need to do to become a Certified Instructor?

SAS² Certified Instructors must first become SAS² Certified Practitioners. Then prepare a portfolio of informal training events you have organized, including copies of training agendas, participant lists, training evaluations and other information relevant to your training activities. Finally, co-facilitate a SAS² Introductory Workshop with a SAS² Dialogue Certified Instructor in your region.
